Marathon Profile: Edge to Edge Marathon

My latest marathon profile us to the Canadian west coast with the Edge to Edge Marathon. The Edge to Edge Marathon starts in Tofino and ends Ucluelet along the west coast  of Vancouver Island.

Where is Vancouver Island you ask? Well it is off the west coast of Canada and getting there involves a 1.5 hour ferry ride from Vancouver – there are also ferry options from Washington State in the U.S.

If you have not been to Vancouver Island then I definitely recommend the trip. Though I have not yet completed the marathon I have no doubt that the Edge to Edge Marathon is probably one of the more scenic marathon courses you will find in North America.

As mentioned, the course runs between Tofino and Ucluelet, going through Pacific Rim National Park along the way. Another highlight is the run along Chesterman Beach 4 km into the marathon.

If you do go make sure to take the time to take a surfing lesson here like I did both times I visited.

I have not made any plans to register for this one yet but I am also looking for an excuse to head back to Vancouver Island so I can definitely see myself doing this one at some point.
