I recently finished reading the Long Run by Matt Long. I was not familiar with the story at all before picking up the book one day when I was looking for a new running related book to read.
If you are not familiar with the story, Matt Long is a New York firefighter who was run over by a bus making an illegal turn while riding his bike to work in 2005. The accident left with with injuries that doctors figured gave him a 5 per cent chance of surviving.
The book focuses on Long’s efforts to overcome the injuries he sustained and to get back being the athlete he once was – an Ironman and Boston Qualifier among other achievements.
If you are looking for a little inspiration or if you think you have it tough then this book is worth a read.
