Nutrition for Runners: Homemade Pasta Sauce

Tonight’s recipe is one my wife came up with quickly the other night when we were short on dinner options at home. We had pasta but no sauce. This quickly became a great option, an option with a lot less sodium than many store bought sauces.

To make the sauce yourself you will need the following:

1 can of diced tomatoes
1 Tbsp tomato paste
1 Tbsp dried basil
1 Tbsp marjoram
1 Tbsp oregano
2 gloves chopped garlic

Add the ingredients to a sauce pan and Cook over medium heat until thickens and you will quickly have a healthy and delicious pasta sauce!
