If you are interested in running a marathon on every continent or in as many continents as you can tonight’s profile is for you. The Istanbul Marathon is the only marathon that takes place in two continents.
Istanbul’s location along the Bosphorus Strait means that part of the city is located in Europe while the other part is located in Asia.
The Marathon starts on the Asian side of the city and finishes in the European side, in the stadium of the Besiktas football club if you are familiar with European football.
The biggest selling point to this marathon is that fact that it allows you to run in two continents on the same day. While it does involve having to cross three bridges, it is a mainly flat course.
As always, if you are interested in more info on this marathon you can read some race reviews here.
What do you think? Would you run this one for the opportunity to run in two continents on the same day? Have you completed this marathon?
