Tonight I found another unique marathon to profile. Like last week this one also involves a northern destination.
The Midnight Sun Marathon takes place in Tromso, Norway. It is the northernmost marathon certified by AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races).
What makes this truly unique is the fact that it takes place at night but is run in daylight due to the fact that the sun does set in Tromso from mid-May to mid-July.
This marathon certainly sounds appealing for the reasons that make it unique, above the Arctic Circle, run under the midnight sun etc., but the fact that it is run at night also provides a unique challenge in terms of preparation.
Arranging your sleeping and eating schedules in order to prepare this one would add an extra challenge to this race as the race starts at 10 PM. I think that would simply add to the experience as running a marathon through the night would most certainly be an unforgettable experience.

What do you think of this one? Would it be on your marathon bucket list? Do you think you could run a marathon through the night?
