Since today was the draw for the New York Marathon lottery I thought it would be a good time to profile the New york Marathon.
As you know from last night’s post, I put my name in the lottery for the first time this year. Not surprisingly my number did not come up today. However, since you are guaranteed an entry if your number is not chosen three years in a row I know I will run the New York Marathon sometime between now and 2014 🙂
The New York Marathon is the world’s largest marathon. Last year 45,103 runners finished the race!
The course for the New York Marathon starts on Staten Island, covers the five boroughs – Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Manhattan – and ends in Central Park. You can check out the course map here.
Interested in running the New York Marathon? Whether you meet the automatic qualifying standards, want to run for a charity, buy a travel package or enter the lottery, the information you need is listed here.
