Movies about Running

A couple of weeks ago I wrote about Without Limits which I received for Christmas. So far it is the first movie about running that I have watched. Over the past couple of weeks I have come across a couple of trailers for movies I would  now like to see.

The first one is Hood to Coast which premiered in theatres last night. It chronicles the experience of four teams as they run the relay race. I was not familiar with this race before I saw the trailer and it certainly looks like it is quite the experience.

If you want to read more about the movie, head over to iRunnerBlog where Scott has posted a review.

The second movie that caught my attention is The Spirit of the Marathon. I was not familiar with this movie until Tim from 26.2 Quest mentioned it on his Facebook page today. It chronicles a cast of elite and amateur runners as they train for the Chicago Marathon.

What are some of your favourite running movies and which ones do you have on your list of movies to see?

  1. Thanks for the mention Patrick!

I have quite a few movies that I want to see. I would like to see the Ultramarathon Man, and some of the Prefontaine movies. I have seen the Running the Sahara a couple times which was a good movie as well.

Too many movies and not enough time!

  2. You’ve just provided me with a couple more titles to check out Tim. Until now I have not really looked into what is out there for movies so this is all still new to me.

As far as the Prefontaine movies, I have not seen Prefontaine but Without Limits is worth a watch.
